no mater anyway you do it its going to take awhile ...

this would be the fastest way http://www.vcdhelp.com/avitovcdfoolproofusingcce/

i accually get about the same speed running tmpgenc as cce as tmpgenc is better threaded for multiple cpu's -- cce is a little faster though

.. on single cpu's cce is a lot faster. but it costs 2000$

other that that tmpgenc is still your best choice.

you would use it is conjunction w/ dvd2svcd (which requires an encoder - either CCE or TMPGenc anyway) ..

Full name is "Cinema Craft Encoder"

  6. Dutchman: DVD2SVCD is just a collection of programs that automates the conversion process. CCE is actual encoder. DVD2SVCD requires either TMPG or CCE, so if you have CCE you can just set DVD2SVCD to use that instead. And yes CCE is light years faster then TMPG, especially for MPEG2.

BJ_M: I disagree with you on the speed of the encoder. I don't have multiple processors but I find my encodes using CCE is around 4 times faster then TMPG (MPEG2) with all filters, etc, being equal. I doubt another processor could make up for a 4x speed difference.

using 1.2J with 4 x 1ghz xeons w/ 1 meg cache each I get same speed with cce and tmpgenc .... but like i said - other milage may vary ..
with dual 2.4 I get about 20% faster with cce than 2.56 tmpgenc (CBR or CQ) is all .. I havnt timed it exactly ..

    1.2x works better with multiple cpu's (over 2 ) than version 2.x for some reason - 2.x doesnt reconize over 2 cpu's ...
