  1. Hi there,

I'm an unhappy owner of a crappy Pinnacle PCTV Pro card. I use it in Windows 2000, with drivers version 5.1, VirtualDub to capture and TMPEGEnc to encode. My system specifications are as follows:

    AMD Athlon Thunderbird 1333 MHz
    384 MB RAM PC133
40 GB Samsung ATA/100 HD (well defragmented)
    Matrox Millennium G450 LE
Pinnacle PCTV Pro <-- crappy item in the box

My problem is this: I can't capture at higher resolutions than 352x288 in VirtualDub. It's says "unsupported resolution"!

BTW, I can get the desired resolutions with WinDVR, but it encodes directly to MPEG2, and the result isn't very good.

Does anyone know how to configure VirtualDub in order do capture at higher resolutions? Thanks in advance.

  2. Try this link http://www.digtv.ws/ you will find virtualVCR that is a direct show capture program. It doesn’t come with many filters but I think has better cap quality than Vdub anyhow. I sure if you do a search you will find other Direct Show capture utilities.

    Good Luck
