This is a really strange problem that started after I installed CCE SP. I am frameserving an MPEG2 ripped from a DishPVR to CCE via DVD2AVI and Avisynth. Everything works fine up until I start encoding with CCE. Then, after I click "Encode" my computer spontaneously restarts. No error message, no lockup, no warning--just an instant reboot. Sometimes it does it right away, other times it does it 20 minutes or more into the encode.

I thought maybe it was a CPU temperature issue, especially since after CCE started doing it, so did TMPGenc when I tried using that as a Plan B option, so I did some tweaking with my fan positioning, but it's still happening. After messing with my fans, my C: drive died and I had to rebuild my system. Then I discovered the release of the Nvidia drivers I was using had a lot of problems and there was a more recent release of drivers, so I rebuilt again and tried using those. Still no luck; my computer spontaneously rebooted 20 minutes into a 45 minute encode.

Anyone know what could be causing this?

Update:

Just gave it another shot. Tried shortening the file name, adding the "ResampleAudio" line in the AVS file, and lowering the average bitrate, in case the bitrate of the original MPEG was lower then what I was trying to encode to. No joy. Got about 17 minutes into the estimated 47 minutes and restarted my computer. Still no error message, warning, or anything else to indicate what the problem might be. The encoding speed hovers in the 0.925 range, give or take .005.
