  1. Greets, I'm haveing problems. This is my first time trying this and im not really sure what i am doing, I'm trying to convert a SVCD to a VCD so I can play it on my home theater dvd player. I can watch the SVCD fine in my PC DVD player, but on a 19" monitor without 5.1 it just isnt the same.

Now, I've tried to use Nero 5.5.9.9 to make a vcd compilation and I just dragged the AVSEQ1.mpg file from the SVCD into Nero and tried to burn it like that, but my dvd player just comes up with errors on loading. What am I missing? Im not sure really where to begin.

  2. If you want to convert the mpeg on and SVCD to a VCD then you need to first reencode the mpeg to the proper format for VCD. You can use software like TMPGEnc to reencode it. There is a good write up of how to use this software on this site under convert or at this link:

    http://www.vcdhelp.com/temgenc.htm

You can also download the software under the tools section
    Kaboodle

  3. Don't make it that complicate.
If your Player does not support SVCD try this instead:

    http://www.geocities.com/newestmoviesencode/dvdvcd

But you have to realize, that VCD or SVCD (usually) do not contain
    5:1 Sound

If the above trick doesn't work you have to re-encode the mpg2-Stream with tempgenc
