I am capturing from my DV cam (sony) using firewire card (IBM) by using Adobe Premier. The problem I have is that that avi file that gets generated is not very "smooth". It is kind of shaky. The original DV is very smooth but the avi seems to be like "slow motion"....
Any idea why this can be happening and how can i avoid it. Thanks.

You are probably seeing the efects of interlacing during playback on your PC. What pgm are you using to play it back, Windows Media Player?
One way to correct that (and reduce the files size) is to encode it to Mpeg (and de-interlace if you only want to view it on PC). Use TMPGEnc.
