  1. I have recently downloaded a DVD Rip that has been broken up into 5MB segments. They are named "Film.avi.001 thru Film.avi.120" These don't appear to have been split with WinRAR or WinAce. How does one go about recombining these into a single .avi file for conversion to VCD?

    Any help would be appreciated.

  2. if you familiar with dos command you can use " copy /b" to combind all files together.

First open Dos promt or comand line. then type in
    copy /b film.avi.001+film.avi.002+film.avi.003+.....+film. avi.00N NameYouWantOutcome2Be.avi.

    This should do that.

Load each file into Vdub and check for Junk frames, if any are found save out another copy using Video > Direct stream Copy Audio > Direct stream copy

When you are happy that each AVI has no junk frames, load AVI 1 into Vdub then use File > Append AVI segment to load the rest one at a time.

If they are all the same there should be no problem loading them. If any are different, you will need to use TMPGEnc File > Output to file > AVI > Codec

  4. When I see files that end in: .001, .002 etc I use Master Splitter to sew them together. Master Splitter is a file splitter and joiner that is freeware / shareware and can be obtained at:

  5. yes I have max splitter program as well. and like you said file end with 001 002 003 mostlikely use da software to split. This "copy /b" is common in splitter program so you don't have to d/l any software if you use this command.
