  1. Hi, fairly new to all the business of VCD, encoding, etc, have successfully encoded and burnt a few avi files using TMPGEnc/VCDeasy but am having problems with 2 particular files. I have encoded the 2 avi files to mpeg1/vcd format and burnt them to disc but on both of them on the disc and MPEG1 file the video freezes at a certain point and will not move any further but the audio continues on as normal with the rest of the file.
On playback of the avi format file there is a slight gliche at the point it freezes on the mpeg format but the avi format file continues past that point and carries on as normal. I realise this is probally the cause of the problem but I would appreciate any help on how to fix this problem such as a repair tool? I have tried MPEG corrector with no success, any other ideas pls.

Load the AVI file to VDub. Select Video-->Scan video stream for errors. Print out the error log. Go to first bad frame select Mark In. Move one frame down (">>"), select Mark Out. Press the delete key. Continue until all your bad frames are deleted. Save the file.

  3. tommyknocker's way will work ok...but if you have several bad frames you can....
edit > go to > (type in bad frame start point) > ok > move back to closest key frame > mark in > repeat above steps with last bad frame and move forward to next key frame. Then Delete Selection.
If you have more than one section of bad frames to remove, remember its important to do the last one first and work your way back to the beginning deleting sections as you go.(if you don't ,your logged bad frames report will get messed up).
