In any part of the movie there it is a lot of pan movment,
the picture has a lot of interlace lines problem.
Tried source: A first, B first or not-interlace.
Tried deinterlace.
Imported using WinXP-moviemaker and pretty sure they use
DVsoft(tm) codec.
Is this incompatible with tmgenc's Canopus DV codec????

Have you looked at what it looks like of the TV? I ask because I have learned to live with the lines on the PC screen, but on TV my projects look just fine. Unless of course I accidently use Field Order B in TMPEG during the MPEG-2 encoding. Since DV is Field Order A, or Top Field First, it looks really bad on a TV.

I think I found where the problem is:
Officialy the movie size is 720 x 480 if you use view file summary.
But if you play it back with a player like Zplayer and view video info
it says the movie size is 360 x 240.
So it seems tmpgenc and also virtudub gets confused by this.
Question:
Why did it get to be 360 x 240 from a straight rip out of the DV camcoder?
I will 1394 the same part again to see if my lastest Moviemaker do the same. -
DV is interlaced, your monitor is not. It should look fine on a regular television.

Correct me if I'm not right, when displaying a interlaced avi
on a pc monitor they are displayed in a progressive fashion.
DV is 720x480i, so only 240 lines/frames.
And as keep aspect ratio, mediaplayer displays it as a 360x240 movie.
Is VCD always 240p?
Can a XVCD be 480i from a DV 720x480i file?
SVCD can be both 480i and 480p?
VirtualDub can create a 480p from a 480i by blending fields together.
But what is the correct way for VCD if you have a progressive DVD player and a progressive HDTV (like I do)?
