Delta DVD-Rom any good?

tomorrow im picking up a Delta 12x DVD-rom drive. Do any of u have this drive? i hear kinda bad things about these. i hear its kinda loud and slow, is any of this true? can anyone verify this? and what about region coded DVDs?

I bought one and use it for a week.
It play DVD just fine, but it can't read CDROM very well.

I bought the Delta 12x for $20 at Circuit City (after rebate) and it seems fine to me. Don't know about region free but I do know you can use Smartripper with it.

i bought one of these a month or two ago. $50 or so.
rips dvds just fine. plays my music cds just fine (regular cds and mp3s and what not) and cdroms. an all around good dvd player. especially considering the price.

just buy it.. its good for the price.. manufacturer price on it is 37.64$ but cicuit city is selling it cheap after rebates.. its 39.99$ and u get a 20 mail in rebate! its good and it rips at 4-8x on my computer

Return the Delta Drive.
It can't read certain DVD disc and have probelm with even some CDROM.
It maybe a unit problem than design. But I always have problem getting circuit city's rebate fullfilled, so I return it.

I've had one for a few months. No probs. I ran a region check program and it said it was region free. Cool.
