I read in post that VFAPI does not support YUV. First is that true?
If true does that mean you would get better results using RGB to create the d2v file instead of YUV?

VFAPI will support YUV, in that it will accept it as input, but it will convert to RGB before the signal is passed on to any other program. So in that sense, no it doesnt support it.

It doesnt matter if you convert to RGB or not before feeding it into VFAPI, either way it comes out RGB and the quality is unchanged. I think that the only drawback to converting to RGB is that it takes time.

This is just one of the benefits of cinema craft encoder, as it supports YUV input. By preserving the YUV color space of the dvd you skip the time consuming process of converting to RGB. The time it saves you probably depends on your hardware setup and your source but on average it can speed up encoding by around %20 at least.

I been experimenting with CCE 2.5. CCE only processes the video stream? It does not seem to process audio? Am I right about this?

CCE can process audio but it has bugs in this function.

If you have an AMD chipset than encoding the audio in CCE can crash the program, though oddly enough, you must still load an audio source otherwise that will also crash the program. The solution is to only load video in CCE yet include a resample audio command in your avs script.

If you have an AMD chipset then perhaps you are somehow avoiding the crash, yet losing the audio.

My advice is to not use CCE for audio, even if you don't have an AMD chipset. Just demultiplex the ac3 from the vob and process that in another software program such as BeSweet gui or headache.
