  1. I have split a avi file in v dub into two parts and the below happens
    on computer vcd through power dvd plays fine and in sync
    on dvd about a sec out which is quite noticable
    the vid and audio that is

    can anyone suggest why is it in ther burning process cos they were burned at 4x to avoid errors

    any one out there know the answer?????????

    I had similar problems before. I saw in some discussions to try burning at lower speed (atleast half the max rate supported by your cd-burner)
    It worked for me. I dont know how!!!
    may be the reading mechanism used in a computer drive and standalone players are different and depends on quality of written data.

  3. i am not burning faster than 4X so i dont think its that and ther disc quality is acceptable

    I usually burn my VCDs at 4x on my CD-Rs and 2x if it is a CD-RW
    If I burn at 4x on CD-RW, sometimes I get noise in the video when it is
    played on my dvd player, but plays fine on computer!

  5. I burn my vcd's at 12x and they play just fine on my standalone player.
    A few questions: what prog do you use to convert avi to vcd? And also, when do you cut your movie? Do you cut it before converting, while converting using a source range, or after it is converted?

  6. i use nero 5.9 to encode then burn at 4x and i cut before but some are already pre cut
