    hey I just wanted to know what good programs are there to cut and join mpg files with pretty good results. I dont want one that'll take a day to compile a half hour video though. Any ideas?

    TMPGEnc can cut and merge mpg files & it's pretty good (for free!).

    It's not very exact with timings though - as MPEG's are difficult to split at exact points because of the way they are compressed.
