  1. Maybe wrong place to ask, but I dont know what to do.
I get no picture or anything at all on my tv, when I try with my new GF4 TI4200. Never used tv-out before.

I use the "svideo to RCA" converter, and put it in my tv´s RCA-video input. I switch the tv to the videoinput-channel.
Then I start my computer, and nView finds the tv.
But when I try to get any picture out to it nothing happens. Dont know if I´m doing anything wrong.

I´ve also tried with tv-tool 6.5, I´ve choosed composit, I´ve tried both NTSC and PAL but nothing happens.

Is there any way to test if the cards tv-out, or my tv´s RCA-video in, is broken?

Is it possible that the tv cant handle the output from the card? I mean, are there any differences between a normal videosignal from, lets say a video or a videocam, and the one the card sends out?

By the way, I´m not sending any audio to the tv, just this videosignal, since I´m taking audio directly from the soundcard to the stereo (big speakers hehe...).

    bort,
I took this straight off nvidia's support page. Hope it helps...

TV-out on my graphics card is not working. How can I fix this?

To test the TV-out feature of your graphics card, turn off your computer. Then connect the S-VIDEO cable from your graphics card to your TV. If your TV does not support S-VIDEO, then you may need to purchase an “S-VIDEO to Composite” adapter. Once you have all the connections you need, connect your graphics card to your TV. Make sure there are no other devices in between, such as a VCR or switchbox. Then, unplug the PC monitor from your graphics card leaving only the TV connected to your PC. Make sure your TV is set to AUX or Line-In. Otherwise, your graphics card will not detect the presence of a TV. Turn on your PC. The system should automatically detect your TV and send the video signal to your TV. If it does display the video signal onto your TV but stops once you boot into Windows, it may simply be a driver issue. You should download the latest drivers for your graphics card from: http://www.nvidia.com/view.asp?PAGE=drivers.

If you do not get a video signal on your TV when you turn on your PC, then this means that either your TV is not sending a video signal back to your graphics card to let it know that a TV is present, or that the TV encoder that handles TV output is not functioning. If you have a different TV to test with, please perform the same test to see if the TV-out is working. Check that none of the pins inside the video cable are bent or missing. If you cannot get TV output from any TV, then your TV encoder is probably defective. Contact your graphics card manufacturer or retailer where you purchased your graphics card from for possible graphics card replacement if your card is still under warranty.

  3. Thank you :-)

But I´m sorry it didnt work. Windows started up like normal (I heard) but didnt get anything on my tv.
But when I start my computer with my monitor connected and the tv on, then nView becomes active so that I can choose different options that are otherwise inactive, and it seems like it finds my tv, I can select it and all.
But I never manage to get any picture out to it :-(

I think I shall try to buy a converter so that I can connect my video to this RCA composite videoinput on front of my tv, just to check if it really works.

    Hi
Are u using refresh rate fix???
I had major problems with TV-OUT whilst my refresh rates were fixed high. As soon as I uninstalled the fix the Tv-out worked properly again.
