  1. i tried virtual dub and tmpgenc and both of them will not open the svcd file i got....

    you need to open your svcd in something like powerdvd which can support mpeg2 playback

    Convert the svcd .dat file to .mpg with VCDGear. Then open the .mpg in DVD2AVI. Save the project, open the project in TMPG. Or if you want to open it in Virtual Dub, convert the dvd2avi project with VFAPI to .avi. Then open that .avi in Vdub.

    and you can open the .mpg direct from the svcd with dvd2avi. no need to convert any dat or so.
