I am just wondering whether it is possible to do a straight DV to MPEG2 Capture using a standard IEEE1394 Firewire card. I have tried everything and most of the time I get the error "digital video driver cannot capture MPEG files". I don't know whether this is hardware related or whether it's software related. I've read all over the place that Ulead Videostudio and DVD Workshop is capable of capturing MPEG2 realtime from a DV source but have been unsuccessful. I've tried Videostudio 6, Mediastudio Pro 6.5, and DVD Workshop. AVI is a breeze. My next step will be to install every single patch available for the software I'm trying. If anybody could give me a hand that would be very much appreciated. I just want to bypass the compression step from AVI to MPEG2 and go direct. If the standard Firewire card will not work, advice on a card that would do it would also be very much appreciated. Thanks in advance.
