ehehehe, Yes, having a bit of problem encoding to MPG for viewing on my Apecs DVD player. I'm using VDUB and TMPG. I know my DVD player reads and plays MPG cause i have had success with some of the "part1" and "part2" files from the net.
But the problem I am having is the 630-650 ish type full movies files that i assume are ripped from DVD. There are .avi files as i get them.
Ok, so i use VDUB to separate the wav file. Then use TMPG to blend the avi and the wav file together. I get a mpg that plays beautifully of my computer . I use Nero to burn as iso file then put in my stand alone DVD and the picture is pixelated and i have no sound.
I followed the guides to select the correct mcf according to the framerate as seen in VDUB info box. I have also tried nearly every mcf file to see what happens,. Same thing.
The avi file shows a 23.96 FPS in VDUB. I dont change it. AM i supposed to? Throw me a bone and give me a direction to troubleshoot if you please. Thanks.......![]()

I think there may also be some other issues involved here, but I think you may need to convert to 29.97fps (I don't know a lot here so correct me if I'm wrong)
In any case, use sefy's classical guide, there are pix of the settings and where they should be set.

Hmmmmmmmmm, the other files"part1" and "part2" type of files that i have had success with have had FPS os 14-15. I didnt convert them to 30, and they play fine in the DVD standalone. So i may not lean towards a framerate conversion .
I have been following a guide from this site. to the tee, exactly with the pictures. It only says to load the mcf file that matches your source file. Thanks for the advice but i dont think thats the right track, anyone else? -
Ok, i am obviuosly doing something wrong. I just read up on my DVD player here, Apex 1500 and it says it will read just about anything you throw at it. So whats the secret? I have re-read all the guides here but i must be missing something. Any help?

From you posts, I've noticed that all the parts that you mention are different. You mentioned that you success with Part1 and Part2 which are 15 fps. But this one that give you problem is in 23.976 fps. So same method might not work with different bitrate, you see?
You said that you didnt convert those 14-15fps to 30 fps, but what template did you use? if you use default template, it means you convert to the frame rate that appear in your template. I'm not sure that your mpeg wouldl play fine if you encoded at 14-15 fps.
NOTE: some avi movie encoded at 15fps internally 30fps which is mean you can re-encode at 29.97/30fps without any glitch.
So with this 23.976 fps you might have to do a different way or use different template or convert to 29.97 fps mpeg. As I have heard that Apexs don't do very well with VCD 23.976 fps type. -
Ok, i fixed my problem no thanks to you or any of you mean people here. I stumbled upon the CORRECT guide by accident. And after 6 hours of searching the all the forums. All you had to do was post a link. But i think you people here enjoy wasting your time critisizing someone rather than just posting a quick link. How long would that have taken? This IS the newbie forum correct? If i wasnt a newbie i wouldnt be asking these kind of questions now would I?
I suggest that all you brainiacs just not reply and stop wasting your time on us newbies. And any of you newbie graduates, just post a few links to guides that will HELP someone. The "just read and search" answer is a bunch of crap from people who like to think they know it all and impose their "i know it and you dont attitude" on other people. You could have easily just taken 10 secs to post the correct guide to my question. If you were truly helping , you would have done that. But we know you wernt dont we? How many people that would have normally contributed to this forum, ( but decided not to after the be-littling answers), have you run off?
Well, add 1 more to your list. Why not just close the newbie forum down.... I'm outta here. -
well well well, if this is the first time that you have spent 6 hours on the forums than you really ARE a newbie. cripes, in the time that it took you to write that scathing review (which screamed newbie, lemme tell you) you could have been reading some more
just a tip-if you don't like to read and sift through vast amounts of info you are never going to be any good at this stuff.
also, to all you newbies who start posts with x number of coasters here-I got an acronym for you CD-RW...that W means that you can write and rewrite to your hearts content...they are about a buck fifty...go invest in one...
@ya_jai - what Apex player is giving you problems? I have an AD-5131 and an AD-1500 and they play a 23.976 VCD flawlessly...End of Line. -
Only 16 coasters, Come back when you have 100.lol
Keep reading and trial and error. -
Maybe the fact that only two people responded is cause you're an idiot. Oh yeah, and they WERE trying to help. I would say next time you have a problem, try and actually say narrow down your problem a bit, but it doesn't matter cause I doubt anyone would help you anyways.

yeah really, what was mean about my post? (maybe not helpful, but mean?)
why do I bother replying to this kind of post when the problem isn't my own? because someone once did it for me. -
May be becuz of my signature, lol
Sorry kimchoc if my signature upset you. i don't mind to help but ho well. May be I'm not good enough to give you any suggestion, maybe. -
Does this sound about right: You have a problem, find this site, do a casual search and post a desperate plea for help. People give you some general tips and then you get pist off because they don't solve your exact problem. So you go out and search and find the solution.
The only person who understands your situation is YOU. No matter how hard you try to describe your issue, only you are able to decide what solution works. It's not that people here are lazy, they just don't have time to hold hands of people who don't use the features of this site (search, guides, etc.).
Hey, now that you've solved your problem, why don't you hang around and offer your help to the next person who has your exact problem? -
You are absolutely right Teddymines. I have seen so many tread that asking for a help. After a few solution post, the original poster didn't come back to say Hey I got it your solution solve mine problems, something right that.
You know if everyone come back and post the result that would be great. Whenever newcomer come and if they have exact same problem then search from forum they will know right awawy what solution or how to solve their problem and they don't have to ask again and again.
