    When i try to open a video file on VirtualDub to get the fps It gives me an error everytime time that says MPEG Import Filter: packet sync error on packet stream. What's wrong?

    My best guess going on so little information is that your trying to open an MPEG-2 file in VirtualDub. It won't work since VDub doesn't support MPEG-2 and you'll get that exact error message.
