  1. I have suddenley been unable to encode to, or play SVCD. I have been using TMPGenc and had selected the 1st 35 mins of a film to encode, and successfully encoded it and burned it to disc. I was shocked to find that when I went to encode the 2nd and 3rd parts of the film the resulting file was a normal vcd resolution, the wrong aspect ratio and with a very jerky framerate. Windows Media Player came up Error downloading codec whenever I played them whereas before the codec was already there and no downloading was needed. It certainly appears that a file has been corrupted or lost. I downloaded from the divx website the "svcd mpeg codec" which is for tmpgenc to encode svcd and was instructed to use the prog to remove the old components and reinstall them, which I did. Although this cleared the error message on Media Player it still plays at the same shocking frame rate and resolution, it burns to disk with the same quality and Nero will not encode as it says it is missing the necessary encoder which has to be bought by mail order(!) In short, I cannot convert anything to SVCD anymore. Can anyone help?
