  1. In some faq i read that in mentioned case composite cable will be better choice over not only rf, but s-video. Is that true?

  2. As Churchill famously predicted when Chamberlain returned from Munich proclaiming peace in his time: "You were given the choice between war and dishonor. You chose dishonor, and you will have war."

If you have an S-Video connection use that. It will always give you better results than composite unless of course you have a card that supports component video, but I've yet to see one on the consumer level.

    As an aside...

S-video is the best ASSUMING the device that sends the signal has the better color comb filter. If you had a poor composite to s-video device ( probably what's in the VCR ) it will make it impossible to recover the lost color information that could be recoverd by a 3d comb filter. A DVD has superior color information so s-video would be appropriate.

If you are just going into a cheap capture card then don't worry too much composite is all the VCR and RF were capable of anyways. I high doubt that the capture card has a 3d comb filter.
