I burned a VCD with NERO 5.5.0.3 and i thought i had succeed! When i played the VCD (i just had burned) it didnt do anything!!! It started but the screen stayed black!

    WHY?

I would suggest using the possibility of a free upgrade to version 5.5.3.5 of Nero ( http://www.nero.com ) .
Next make sure when choosing the VCD mode that on the "Video CD" tab, the "use CDi application" is checked.
Should this still not work it may be a media problem, meaning you need a special type (colour layer) of CD-R(W) to burn on to. Maybe someone in this forum can recommend a brand of CD-R's they have successfully burnt a VCD with and viewed it in a CDi.

  3. I think that with the philips cdi, you must have a vcd-hardware to plugin at the back of the player, thats why i never bought one.

I guess i could try some other ones, but I still like to know if someone succeed! I've just tried making a .BIN file and than burning it to a CD, but it didn't work either..

I've got a card for playing VCDs on CDi so that can't be the problem, I'm also for sure I didn't do anything wrng in the burning proces...

Make sure you player supports burned CD-Rs in the first place. And if it does, it's probably picky about which type of CD-R media will work on it... experiement with different brands, and even CD-RW media.

  6. Hi,

I to was one of those people to buy a CD-I player. I've burned a lot of VCD's in the past for my CD-I player and almost all of them worked.

The CD-I player does NOT support CDRW's. Mine plays about all types/colors recordables. I use Nero from the very first VCD-able version (v4.x.x.x) and no problems what so ever.
