Is there anyway to capture a screenshot of a movie from Windows Media Player? I tried but the screen came out all black.

Lots of ways.
If the movie is AVI format, loadit into Virtual Dub. Slide to your scene, select Video-->Copy source frame to clipboard, paste it into Paint, save.
If the video is MPEG or AVI, load it into TMPGEnc. Select MPEG Tools...Merge & Cut. Edit Everything out but your scene. Select File-->Sequence BMP/...
Select your directory, save, stop. Your scene is now captured.
Or if quality is not that big of a deal, play your movie in Media Player in full screen mode. When you get to your scene, hit Pause. Press the Print Screen key and your shot is now in the clipboard.Hello.
