strange audio/video sync prob

ive just started authoring my own vcds from divx files and while watching them on my dvd player ive noticed that the video will lag for a while while the sound keeps on going, then the video will speed up and catch up with the sound.

another possibly related problem is ive been having some "Buffer Underrun" errors, which i have no idea what they are or how to fix this, any suggestions or quick fixes??

if your movies are encoded with divx 5 that could be the problem,i notice my divx 5 movies do that,if so try a fast recompress to divx 3 or 4 then convert.
