hi everyone, i have been doing lots of vcds. when i rip a vcd from dvd i notice most of the time it turns out okay with few times i am getting out of sync audio. when i convert divx to vcd i notice it is out of syn worse. i just got into the dvd-r scene for about 3 weeks now and i am about to lose it. i have only burnt 2 sucessful dvds and that was just by ripping the vob files and backing them up.while trying to rip and encode dvds i find making vcds a walk in the park. anyways, just recently i have tried to backup my swordfish. before this i have backed it up in divx but i wanted a dvd backup so i ripped the whole thing on my comp with smartripper.so then i tried dvd2avi and got a d2v file and another wave file i think for about 930 megs. i used the new tmpgenc to rip both these files to dvd but the audio is out of sync. i have done this with my scary movie 2 dvd and the whole thing was out of sync. all i have had is problems since ripping. i tried ifoedit and read all the newbie guides but i still dont understand how to use it or how to use rempeg. i do not know where to go from here.i have messed up about 60 dollars worth of dvd-r's now. someone please help with my audio problem. also i use the same type of media which is memorex. i burnt 2 successfull dvds and then the third one i try did not come out. it reads no disc in my apex 500w and my ps2. someone please help i authored the disc in ulead dvd factory.

First thing, after you convert it is the mpg file out of sync or normal. If it is normal all you need to do is download the patches for ulead dvd movie factory at ftp://ftp.ulead.com/pub/Updates/DVDPlugin1.0/DVD_PLUGIN_Patch_E_020606.exe
It Should fix the audio sync problems.(It did for Me) -
thanx but sometimes they are out of synce after i convert them too. i evenm played with settings for dvd2avi but nothing. i tried virtual dub but i dont think it takes vobs.whatr else can i do. be the way i am aplying the patch now.

i'm not sure exactly what the problem is here, but i'll say this. if you are doing a movie and it needs to be IVTC and you do not do it then you will get bad synch problems. you didn't really describe enough here for me to really pinpoint your problem. i would also suggest you find a copy of CCE and use that instead of tmpeg or rempeg. you'll get much faster encodes and much better results. plus i could possibly be of much more assistance then =)

i tried cce but it cant import vobs, should i try dvd2avi and which version of dvd2avi because the nesw one says there are still working on it but i dont know the audio settings on the old one to get a wave file. can someone let me know old settings and some more info it would be much apreciated.thanx.

CCE only takes AVi and quicktime files. so you will need to run a dvd2avi project and then framserve to get it accepted by CCE. i use 1.76 for dvd2avi, but it does not handle DTS audio, so if you need that then you'll need to get the newest version. either one will get you a d2v file that you can then use to framserve

i am going to use the old one but what audio settings do i use to get the file to be a wave file because i read on one of the guides that it has to be a wave file if u are getting bad out of sync.

set it to decode instead of demux. i did swordfish and never had asynch problems. so i'm doubting it's the ac3. not to mention that you only get 2ch when you decode. to wav. grab me on efnet, this nick and we can walk through what you are doing and see if we can find the problem
