  1. I been using TMPEnc to convert DivX to VCD, but I'd like to use CCE 2.5 to encode to SVCD, but I am unsure what all this frameserving is about.

    What does it do, and why is it necessary ?

    I too have heard a lot about framserving. I get it to work using dvd2svcd but still dont know what the hell it means. Any help.

    Let us say you use VDub to tweak your video, save it, before you load them into TMPGEnc. With frameserving, You do not save, instead, you FRAMESERVE it directly into TMPGEnc, and TMPGEnc will encode it too, all in the same procedure. Pretty neat, huh?
