I was experimenting making a svcd- via the premier frame serving plugin and tempgenc. Project frame size currently 720 x 480, with the jpeg stills 640 x 480. The pixel aspect ratio says d1/dv .9

When I get to the point within tempgenc and pull up my source file it automatically inserts the aspect ratio 4:3 525 line (ntsc 704 x 480). If I just keep going thru the screens and begin to encode tmpgenc shows a window that you visually see the encoding process. the pictures in the frames look fine in terms of aspect ratio.

However during this process, if you go to file then preview, another window opens up that shows these pictures being all scrunched up. I believe I read that preview window is representative of the final output.

In any case I went into some advance settings where you can select all these different options like full screen, full screen keep aspect ratio, center, custom, ect.. I tried changing a number of the settings but each time I got the same result when trying to reencode. Which leads me to the following questions..

1) When I watch this svcd via my dvd player on my tv, I realize that it wont fill the screen without either cropping something out or scrunching it to fit the aspect ratio. I want the frames to display in the correct aspect ratio they were produced in realizing there will be portions that are black.

What settings should I be using to make this happen?

2) Do I need to do something like change the project settings within premier prior to encoding the mpeg?

If you or anyone else can lead me in the right direction I would appreciate it very much - Carl
