Hey sugarmag,
I was just looking over your computers specs and with your current CPU I'm not surprised it's taking this long. There is a direct relationship to the amount of processor speed and the time it takes to encode. The faster the cpu the faster the encoding goes. So basically what you’re seeing is normal for your computer specs. A lot of other factors come into play such as the length of the file your trying to encode, the number of filters that have been applied, also the encoding method you choose, such as whether or not your using 1 pass or 2 pass VBR and the bit rate you selected.
