My version of PowerDVD says that it will open a DVD rip stored on my HDD, but it doesn't seem to do anything after I point it to the .ifo file on my computer. I'm getting the latest upgrades, but it is pretty recent and says that it has the function to open it, but nothing happens... any ideas?

i don,t know how you are trying to open it but this is a cut and paste from the cyberlink support page
"To play the dvd like the original , run PowerDVD XP and select the 'Open DVD File on Hard Disk Drive' option and load in the VIDEO_TS.IFO file of the ripped dvd on your hard drive. If you don't have PowerDVD XP then you'll need to use the SUBST command whilst maintaining the original folder structure."Where I walk, I walk alone. Where I fight, I fight alone. -
I was doing it exactly like that and nothing would happen. Instead, I ended up selecting "Open Media Files" and just opened the VOB files one at a time and added them to the Playlist. You can definitely tell when switches VOB files, but other than that it worked great! It'll have to do for now until I can figure out why PowerDVD won't open the IFO files... thanks for the help!

Hi,
Seems this question came a long just some days ago as well. Apperently you can copy the Vob's and Ifo to a dir called VIDEO_TS and they should play as well ! (I'm not sure if this dir has to be in a root of a drive though)
