In TMPGEnc, I click on browseand I can enter my aideo file; but I cannot do it for my audio vile. I bleieve taht I did things right on Smartripper and DVD2AVI, but at the TMPGEnc I am stymied.
Also, as a real NEWBIE, please tell me exactly how I add the vfapi plugin to the same folder as TMPGEnc.
Afinal question...is there not an easier way to rip the DVD and same to a VCD..ie one program??
...and tell me...After I rip my DVD using Smartripper, I end up with 4 video files. Each one will open and play individually....is there a way to join them so I don't have to do anything further if I just want them on my system (or is the reason I can play them is that I did something wrong?)

you need to have DVD2AVI.exe, DVD2AVI.vfp and DVD2AVI.ini all in the same directory.
When you are loading the Video into TMPGEnc, you want to load the .D2V file not the vob's.
If that dosen't work, put DVD2AVI.exe, DVD2AVI.vfp and DVD2AVI.ini all in the same directory as TMPGEnc and it should work for you.
as for all in one software, there is a few, but mine is the best.
I will be releseing and new BETTER version tonight (I hope) v1.01
so check at my website about 10 hours after this post.

Oops, the 4 files.
these are your vob files.
due to limitations of DVD media and FAT/FAT32 Hard Disk Drives, when they make a dvd they split the files to keep them small, cos DVD Media and FAT/FAT32 Hard Disk Drives can't handle files over the size of 2gig.
Don't worry about it though, just load the .d2v file into TMPGEnc not the vob's.DVD to VCD made eazy
