  1. I need to encode a movie I captured to a DVD and I need to create some chapters at very specific times, I know that chapters have to be in a GOP start, I tried to force TMPG to create I-frames at the specific times, thought maybe it will force the program to start a new GOP, and it didn't, so I realy need to know if there's a way to force GOP start at specific frames, in TMPG or any other program.

    Thanks.

chapters have to be at "I" frames and dont have to be in the start of a GOP ..

you can manually insert I frames with tmpgenc using force picture settings..

  3. Well, I did that, but could never fit the chapters exactly where I wanted them to be, though I defined the exact time of the the frames. I actuly imported the chapter list to Maestro, the list is time-based, is there a way ti import a frame-based list to Maestro?

  4. I just checked, and Maestro actualy only let you create chapters that are on GOP start.

i have no problems on a daily basis to make chapters on any I frame .. in fact Maestro lets you "bump" the chapter points back and forth to the next or prev I frame ... those are not on the start of a GOP either ..

do you have only 1 I frame per GOP? then i could see a issue ...

you can select asset or zero base time code if that will help you importing a chapter list.

  6. Never mind, I figured it out.
    Thanks anyway

BTW, I did try to encode a file that has only 1 I-frame per GOP (bad idea, I know) just to check, and had no problem.
My problem with the previous file was, that I forgot that I performed a framerate convert so all my times has changed, everything is OK now.
