  1. I have 2 AVI files that when I try to convert to VCD standard using TMPGenc, I get the error message 'An error incurred when audio is decoded' Can I use 48000 for audio instaed of 441000? I know Nero says these are not VCD complient, but will my standalone dvd player still be able to make sense of the audio?

Someone answered before by saying try remuxing. If this is a possible solution how is this done?

On another note what is the encoder like in Nero 5.5, can it replace tmpgenc???

  2. The standard for VCD and SVCD is 44100KHz sampling rate.

I recently tried 48000KHz audio on an XVCD, but the sound was out of sync on my player (a Sony). Some players can probably play 48000KHz fine, but it's not a guaranteed thing since it's not to the specs.

I used Sonic Foundry SoundForge to resample the audio to 44100 and that worked just fine.

Remuxing can fix a lot of problems but not out of spec audio.
