  1. I was wondering if it is possible to encode a vcd into a dvd format to help make the quality the best it can be, but yet burn it onto a vcd format so my stand alone dvd player can play it. I have a Sony DVP - S350 Player if that helps. Also..has anyone tried to make a vcd compatible with the Playstation 2 dvd player? If so..how did you do it?

  2. You can capture an MPEG1 at 720x480 and a bitrate around 4000, but I doubt it very much if the sony will play it, I have done XSVCD at 704x480 at 6000 bitrate and only found 3 DVD players that will play it

    daewoo 5800
    Sampo 631CF
    AKAI 760

Oh, it looks fantastic, but you are limited to players that can handle it.

IF YOU ENCODE IN DVD FORMAT IT WONT BE A VCD, ITLL BE A MINI DVD AND YOU CAN ONLY FIT ABOUT 20-25 MINUTES ON A CDR/RW. A VCD WILL NOT GIVE YOU THE QUALITY OF A DVD NOT EVEN CLOSE.

YOU CAN CHACK YOUR DVD COMPATIBILITY HERE
