I was wondering if it is possible to encode a vcd into a dvd format to help make the quality the best it can be, but yet burn it onto a vcd format so my stand alone dvd player can play it. I have a Sony DVP - S350 Player if that helps. Also..has anyone tried to make a vcd compatible with the Playstation 2 dvd player? If so..how did you do it?

You can capture an MPEG1 at 720x480 and a bitrate around 4000, but I doubt it very much if the sony will play it, I have done XSVCD at 704x480 at 6000 bitrate and only found 3 DVD players that will play it
daewoo 5800
Sampo 631CF
AKAI 760
Oh, it looks fantastic, but you are limited to players that can handle it. -
IF YOU ENCODE IN DVD FORMAT IT WONT BE A VCD, ITLL BE A MINI DVD AND YOU CAN ONLY FIT ABOUT 20-25 MINUTES ON A CDR/RW. A VCD WILL NOT GIVE YOU THE QUALITY OF A DVD NOT EVEN CLOSE.
YOU CAN CHACK YOUR DVD COMPATIBILITY HERE
