I started a new thread because this is an open question... I just got a new system and am trying to reclaim some hardware from my old system.
I have a display card to run my digital LCD off of and would like to have my ATI AIW Radeon act as JUST a TV Capture card as I'm not concerned about the display aspect of the card. Is this even possible? I basically want to install just the capture drivers - MMC and the Windows Wrapper.
Based on my HORRIBLE experiences getting the ATI cards to work, my guess is that this will be impossible. I'm tossing around the idea of selling this card and just picking up a card that's devoted to TV capture (like the hauppauge).

As I recall, the AIW (particularly the AGP) are required to be the primary display. Luckily for me, my AIW Radeon happens to be the best video card I own, so I have never had a need to try using it as either secondary, or not at all.
