i get a "cant create file" error with tmpgenc when i open my .mpg file..
tried increasing the priority of directshow on the environmental settings to no avail...
can anyone suggest anything?

out of space in your temp drive? Check TMPEGenc's environment setting and see which drive it is using for working space.

checked out the temp space and twas fine.. but just the same i changed the path and i still have the same problem...

Do you get the msg when you first try to open the .mpg file from tmpegenc OR when it starts to encode?
What kind of .mpg file is it? mpeg2 from DVDs? mpeg1 from VCDs?
Have you tried using the DVD2AVI to get the .d2v file in place of the .mpg first?
