I nkow thia can be done, but how? TMPEGnc does not recognize a VOB file. Do I need a codec, or something? I don't have a DVD-ROM drive, noly the .VOB file itself.

I just did it...
ripped to HD, open tmpeg..all files, opened .vob then encoded to vcd directly -
I don't have DVD player software installed on my computer. You do. I'm not interested in the player software only the codecs.
