runtime error 226

Hi
I have just loaded Ulead Videostudio 6 trial version on my computer as a couple of capture cards I want to buy come with it so i thought I would check it out first.
I get a "runtime error 226 has occured at 0001FA0" and "at 00001F10".
I run Premiere 6 ,Ulead DVD factory ,Virtualdub all with no problems.
I am running Windows ME with P3 733, 512 mb ram,1x40 plus 1x80gb ATA 133 maxtor HDD.
The problem occurs whether I use VFW or WDM drivers.It wont allow me to pick audio (I have SB live card) but the other programs have no problem.The system locks forcing manual reboot.Problem starts when setting up capture.
Ulead dont give support for trial versions so they wont even answer and their forums suck.Lots of no replies or Ulead hating.
This now is a matter of principle for me as I want to know what it is more than anything.
I'm new to the scene and only have a Swann Ezycapture card currently(based on flyvideo and conexant 878 chip) so that is why I need new capture card and dont want to pay extra for bundled software that doesnt work for me.

did You resolve that problem meanwhile? I observe a similar behaviour. The same two error points, however in my case during rendering of DV type 2 clips in MSP6 with the MC DV Codec. I suppose it's the MainConcept Codec because when removing it, the error does not occur (however I'd like to use it because of its better quality).

Anyone else who found this error 226 and possibly a solution?
