I downloaded a concert video and want to convert to VCD - whats the best way to do this so that I can move on from track to track instead of fast forward without having to individualy split the avi into seperate files (or do I have to?)

  2. If you want one track for one file, you have two choice. First you will need to either split avi file or easier way encoded one song at a time. Second you can add chapters at every point you need it to be seperate.

First method you can use Source frame range in tmpgenc to encode only part you want. You can use batch mode to get da job done easier.

Second you can convert the whole avi file to mpeg(VCD). Then you apply chapters/entry points to mpeg file using VCDimager.

  3. go for the second option!
one file with chapterpoints: no gaps in between the tracks

(1st option: big chance you have small pauses in between the tracks,
    that s.cks with concertvideos)

  5. You can try VCDeasy which it GUI or VCDImager if you don't know how to write "xml" code to feed to vcdxbuild. Serch the forum for chapters and vcdeasy, there are plenty of guides here.

Another benefit of vcdimager you will see how ppl make "MENU" which is very good for music video CD.
