  1. I'm sorry if this is a stupid question but I am new to the world of VCDs.
I recently purchased some vcds from an asian store and they work fine on both of my dvd players and my computer.A friend in the Philippines sent me some burned copies of vcds from there and they don't work on the dvd players or the computer.I'm not sure what format they are.Is anyone out there familiar with this problem?I've thought about buying a couple of vcd players when I go back there but I'm not sure if I would have to get a converter for them to work here.I was also told that the players sold there are very cheaply made and poor quality.I guess I'm wanting to know if the vcds from the Philippines can be converted into a format that will play in my dvd player? If so what program would do this.
    Thanks in advance,

  2. Tattoo,

    Check if:

    1) the VCDs were burned according to the correct VCD format specifications

    2) the contents of the burnt VCDs were in their proper DAT files and not MPG files.

You can use the program VCD Gear to check and correct if the DAT files were corrupted. You can use NERO to burn the corrected MPG file into VCD format.
