I've just started using CCE to encode DVD rips to SVCD. Is there a setting for utput resolution? Since my source is DVD the input resolution is 720x480. Is there a setting inn CCE to set output resolution,I.E.-480x480. Or is the output fixed to the input?

you need to frameserve to resize.
Where I walk, I walk alone. Where I fight, I fight alone. -
The output fixed to the input unless you use the only available resize filters, that are half vertical res and half horizontal res. If you want to resize to a svcd compliant resolution, you have to use one of the known video editors, e.g. Avisynth. CCESP let you create a svcd compliant MPEG (system) stream only if the source resolution is valid, no matter whether you frameserve or not.

On the concersion Tab window there is a drop down window called aspect ratio.
In that there are 2 settings, 16.9(borders added) and 4.3(no borders added).
Select the 4.3(NO BORDERS ADDED) option, this will make your svcd full screen and 480x480 if your source is NTSC or 480x576 if your source is PAL.
Hope that helps -
marvel2020 you are talking about DVD2SVCD not CCE, though DVD2SVCD can use CCE. When you use DVD2SVCD, however, it is still frameserving through avisynth which is where the resizing takes place.
As stated before the only resizing that can be done in CCE is the half vert. half horizontal option. For converting dvd to svcd you must resize your source before feeding it into CCE. -
OOPS
I Stand corrected ;
.
Yeah your right Adam, but i think that he should start using DVD2SVCD because i found that when i was frameserving to CCE it very slow.
But then if you use it in DVD2SVCD, it will be faster, and everything is done for you and the touch of a couple of buttons
But each to his own
