I have WinXP, WinTV card and am capturing VHS from old camcorder.
I can't seem to manipulate the source stream in VDub. That is, I cannot set the brightness, for example. The dialogue with brighness (and other parameters) comes up but the controls (sliders for brightness) are locked.
Nor can I set the source type (my camcorder is NTSC, so I need to
tell VirtualDUB this?).
I have tried the bundled Movie Maker app. There I can set the
brighness, camcorder type etc (interestingly, these settings are then
used by VirtualDUB next time I open it).

Try loading a filter named brightness/contrast to adjust your brightness.
Hello. -
In VirtualDub go to, Source, Device settings. You set the brightness for the driver there. If they are locked you must have a driver problem.

Thanks for the ideas.
Where do I set the source type, specifically NTSC vs. PAL?-----------------------------------------------------
