  1. I too have been labeling my DVD's. No problems here. I found a great way to get the little bubbles out. I use and old wallpaper seam roller. Works like a charm.

  2. I've labeled quite litterally 100's of CDr's and DVD'r with no failures OR BUBBLE problems. If you are having bubble problems then you need a different brand label applicator. I use the old style NEATO (2 piece) applicator and it has worked flawlessly. I can't speak for their new style though since I don't have any experience.

I also use a pioneer to write the dvd's and a pioneer dv-444 for watching them with zero problems. I've labeled dvd's for dozens of different people and have gotton no reported problems either (don't know what brands of players they are using).

    Primarily using Ritek unbranded dvdr's.

  3. If you want nice text (ie no hand writing) and don't want to risk disk jitter and layer corruption, use the neato core cd labels. You can get them at 10.00 for 100 labels and you will need to use the Neato software MediaFace II. (As far as I know.)

It only covers from the hole to the inner clear ring. But it gives you enough room to write text and even a few logos. Looks a lot like the double side - double layer movie disks.

  4. Results may vary depending on the standalone DVD-player.

I had several label DVD-R that didnt want to play in my JVC player who played fine in a Panasonic RV-32 player.

So if you have problems with large numbers of already made DVD-R you should consider changing your player instead of un-labeling or re-burning them... Just make sure you choose your new player carefully.

  5. My labelled DVD-R work fine in Toshiba 2800 DVD player. This is least expensive of Toshiba line up. I would say that higher up Toshiba models should have at least the same mechanism or better.

STAY AWAY FROM ADHESIVE LABELS. I've learned my lesson the hard way. I made lots of DVDs and found a third of them skip or don't work at all. My brother took one of my bad disks and took off the label and it started working perfectly.

I purchased a new Casio label printer. It prints on the disk using a ribbon ink just like the professionals do. All the disks I've created so far work fine on every player I've tried.

Some people who are still using labels think that they fine because they might work well on a couple of players. With a little more experimentation you will find that that labels will cause playback problems on some DVD players.

It is true, labels are the cause of many playback problems. I use to think it was the disks, now I know better.

  7. i hvae burned over a thousand disk (1000) + and never have a problem so far so good. have used plastic labels, memorex etc. i think that some disks become damaged by the dvd player instead. the newer the player better compatibility with the media.

  9. In some threads I read a few months back it was tested, and noted, that labels can throw off a set tops ability to play back a DVD. (out of balance??) Put 'em on straight.
