I am trying to playback any SVCD movie on my PC but all I get is a black screen and the timeline does not increase (Media Player, ZoomPlayer). If I use PowerDVD then I get some scratchy sounds with nasty artifacts every couple of seconds but still no picture. VCD's play fine as do DIVX's and all other formats - the problem is limited to SVCD's only. I have tried removing and re-installing the SVCD codecs but it makes no difference. In fact it makes no difference if I remove the SVCD codecs altogether! This leads me to believe that Windows (XP) is using another codec to try and decode SVCD's, but I have no idea which ones.
I'm hoping someone around here can help me because I am having severe problems figuring this one out.
Thanks in advance.
vFreak.
