I have burned many SVCD's, and I have never had to use VirtualDub until recently. I had a AVI file that someone had insertted a loop into at the end saying someone was great. When I converted this AVI file to SVCD, it didn't work correctly. Therefore, I used VirtualDub to erase the last few frames that were looping. You can accomplish this by selecting:

Video/Select Range. Just place the ending range to stop before the looping frames or where ever you want it to stop.

However, this process still created a few coasters from my CDR's until I learned the correct settings to use. Under Video and Audio, you need to make sure that Full Processing mode is selecting. You also need to select Video/Compression and select DivX MPGE-4 Video Codec. This worked for me, but there may be other options to use.

Once I did this, I was able to once again create another beautiful SVCD using TMPGEnc.
