Guys, need your outmost help. I have followed some guides on how to convert DVD9 to DVD5 and i'm stuck now. My problems are as follows:

I have saved the project in DVD2AVI and used VFAPI to convert it to .AVI. After that i used CCE to transcode the .AVI into .m2v. After transocoding using 2 passes, i get a 3+GB file that is okay but when i preview it on media player, it shows only 50+ minutes. I'm trying to rip Thin Red Line and the .vob files are all in one set. The .m2v files show the starting as well as the ending of the movie, i'm sure some part of the movie is left behind. I also checked the .avi VFAPI created for me and it shows 2hrs 19mins. There are no extras in this DVD and i thought trying this one would be easier to other DVD's.

I have tried Erin Brokovich but the whole movie is in 2 VTS_SETS. The second set is a part of the main movie in the middle and i gave up on how to put them together for now.

Can someone help me on this problem which have been giving sleepless nights and lots of strees too

    Thanks in advance for replies.

  2. hi,

if you selected the correct stream in DVD2AVI, then in DVD2AVI you should see the whole movie when you move the scroll bar along the bottom.

Dont worry about media player, its a buggy piece of crap and often crashes on long mpeg files....its to do with the memory buffer it requires, and how much memory you have.

Just complete the process and burn your 3+ gig session to dvdr and check it out on your TV and DVD player.

Thanks, i guessed the problem was with Media player but as a newbie you couyld nvr be too sure. I'm going to try it out once again from scratch as my hdd space is low. I only have 1X20GB (partitioned to 2X10GB) and 1X10GB. I know it isn;t enough but for now i have to deal with it. I should have 20GB to fool around, i think it should be just enough.

Ripping the whole thing again just to make sure and sorta practice a bit
