Hi, I am a first time user so give me time. I would like to change a rm file to something different without downloading a new program. I do have TMPGEnc 2.57.41.146 (the newest) and Virtual Dub 1.410. I also would like to convert the sound file to .wav

    Thanks

  2. With those programs, you cant do it. You need a program called TINRA(This Is Not Real Anymore). A couple other can do it, but I forget the names. Real is a very tough format to transencode, even WMV is easier to deal with. Real video REALLY SUCKS.

It's too bad my friend in the states always converts to that when capturing and sends it to me. Maybe I'll ask her to convert to something else.

I hate Realplayer even more now

    Baah! and Thanks

  4. You couldhave her use the Windows Media Encoder. Its totally FREE! And it allows alot more control over quality and settings. Plus WMV can be accepted by TMPGEnc for direct to MPEG. It is good quality, at least when compared to Real.
