  1. Yeah I know taht fixing the audio sync when converting from avi to mpg has a simple solution, just use the source range and change the audio gap. But is there an easier way. I'm finding it to be such a hassel to find it exactly to the milisecond and I've it seems that whatever I try it seems to be off both ways. Anyone know of an easier way to sync up the audio? Does VirtualDub convert form avi to mpg with no problems?

  2. It could have something to do with your DVD player. I had the same problem with my VCDs when I had my Apex AD-703, but when it broke, I bought a sony, and I haven't had a problem with it since.

  3. oh no, I didnt even make the vcd yet I'm just converting it first and the converted file is the one that gets outa sync. So I'm just looking for either a better converting tool, I'm using TMPGEnc, or an easier way to get it correct. Thanks anyway.

  4. I have same problems but only with some movies seems like there is some encryption on some dvds

  5. I agree with your encryption theory.

It seems on certain DVDs there is an additional intro sequence or copyright warning which appears on the mpeg video stream but not in the wav audio I make from DVD2AVI - thus causing a permanent desync exactly the length of the extra sequence.
