Hi,

I just bought a Kiss 1302 DVD player, great value for the money (I paid 7.990 BEF, or 198 €). It plays DVD, VCD, SVCD, MP3, CD-R, ... Anything except old Kodak Photo-CDs

Is was wondering however if upgrading the firmware is worth the risk...

Bit first, just let me explain my story...

Bundled with the player, in the original packaging, came a CD-ROM with firmware revision 52. The firmware in the player was 42. So I followed exactly the notice that came with the CD-ROM, and bang, I ended up with a completely dead player Old firmware erased, no new firmware loaded...
I brought the player back to the store, and they told me they forgot to warn me the first time not to use the bundled CD-ROM, because it notoriously fails... Instead I should have downloaded a firmware from the Internet...
The remplaced my player without problem! The new player is firmware 41, however...

Now I was wondering if anybody has experiences with upgrading the Kiss 1302 player (seems to be an OEM of RAITE 715, Tokai, etc..), and what it would bring to me to flash my firmware. As far as I could see, the region hack doesn't work on my player... Is this a feature in a newer firmware?

BTW, is anybody with experience in flashing those firmwares could send me (or post) a [B] detailed <\B> description of the procedure, I would be very grateful!

Regards,
Jiheffe
