i have just got a DVD writer and was looking at backing up a double layer DVD onto a DVD-R and did not know if the DD was kept as DD 5.1 as I have came across some DVD s that say they are yet don’t have a true 5.1 soundtrack so do you lose this as its one of the best things about DVD’s

All the DVD's that I have backed up play the full 5.1 AC3 sound track just fine.
