  3. Hi,

The quality of a DivX movie on a TV is (In my oppinion) better that on a monitor. This is caused by the fact that a TV has a (slighty) lower resolution for displaying screens than a monitor. Also a TV gives a more natural look.

If you really wanna go for good quality display (In both TV and PC mode) get your self a Matrox Millenium G4xx. They are relitivly cheap and the TV-out is THE best you can get for that price-range. You won't be able to do really heavy 3-D games, but the screen quality is really great. (Most games will run just fine though, just not at full speed/quality)

  4. hey thx remember that I won't use this pc for nothing other than capturing video from my vhs and playing video through my tv out

I have 9 computers at home:

    3 game/workstation pcs
    1 linux/webserver/file server/cold fusion server
    1 linux router
    2 future linux cluster pcs
2 I don't know what to do pcs; one of them the dedicated tv/out capture server and the other one maybe a linux answering machine where I can listen to my messages online and I can put a password on the phone so that telemarkers can't get through

That being said what do you think would be a good capture card and just for tv out and vhs capture no playing games (dual 500 celeron with tnt2 or single 700athlon mhz with 3dfx; either one) dedicated tv out and vhs capture pc with internettt to download the movies and then play them

  5. I agree with Psycho_Dad_Rules, Matrox DualHead/TV gives the best quality you will EVER find in any other competing product, as it's designed specificly for that objective, it's 3D isn't exactly the best, but when it comes to what it says it will do, it will do it better then any other card.

  7. There are many variations of the card, one would be the regular DualHead which you can connect two PC Monitors or a PC and a TV, and the other would be the card with the Capture ability which is the more expensive one, basicly one is named Millenium and the other Marvel.
the one with the capture (Marvel) is more expensive, and it can use any capture program in the market.
