  1. Hi - I'm a complete newbie and what I know could be written on back of a postage stamp I reckon.

However, I've downloaded avi and mpeg files and when i go to try to convert them on TMPGE, i get two different error messages. one says it's not a regognised file, the other says that the file is unsupported.

I've followed the guides and installed the Divx codecs (3 + 4) but I'm still getting these messages on some files.

also - if I split a long (over 80 min file) in TMPGE to convert the avi to mpg, do i have to manually do the second half or is there an automatic 'follow-on' for the second part?

many thanks in advance guys - be gentle with me!

I would download the NIMO CODEC PACK.
If your movie is too long and you want to split it,you can do it automatically with TMPGE using the source range and the batch encode .

  4. tried the nimo codec pack - unfortunately it was telling me it had errors and not all files downloaded.

tried it 3 times before giving up. i've now still got a mpg file that tmpge keeps telling me is unsupported.

sorry to be a pain guys but this is doing my head in and i hate giving up on a problem
