  1. Ok, I'm trying to encode something to AVI using TMPGEnc but it gets really slow after about 1700 frames..

    Whats up with that? How can I make the whole process go as smoothly as the first few seconds??

  2. Think there is no proper way to do.

    I dont know your source material, but the speed depends on the operations necessary for recoding. Less movement or changes in the video make encoding a bit faster, lots of details, motion slower.

    Maybe you may change some of the priority settings

    or give the process a higer prioroty at all

    Something ?, if that something is an AVI to AVI or a Mpeg 1 to AVI use Vdub instead. If there are any problem frames in the source TMPGEnc will slow down while it tries to sort them out.
